Summary: Overall, I would suggest that you buy this game only if you enjoy the table top version of the card game. For those new to the whole Yu-Gi-Oh thing, I would suggest you learn how play before jumping into this game since it's not exactly newbie-friendly.

Summary: DDS is one of the few GBC games left that brings out the power of the fading hand-held system. With more than 800 different cards, a whole handful of opponents, and a Versus Mode for duels against human players, this is a game that you should check out. Who says monster-taming card games are done?

Summary: Despite the aging technology of the GBC DDS does a tremendous job of including the entertainment level of the series. The absence of the PSone’s story driven plot is quickly mediated with the inclusion of the card construction feature. While at times Yu-Gi-Oh! can seem like little more then a bonus game in Final Fantasy VIII, you have to consider that for an 8-bit title this game exceeds expectations, but just barely.

Summary: Yu-Gi-Oh! Dark Duel Stories: A card game like no other? Is it a game worth playing? Not entirely, after years of playing other card related games there are better ones out there. Sure you can construct a mighty deck, duel rivals, gain experience and ultimately face off the masters, but as depth as it may sound, this game doesn’t match up to par with much more addictive strategy games such as Tetris or Final Fantasy Tactics. “Dark Duel Stories” is still an okay game, and did I mention that each cartridge also contains three promotional cards? Hey, score three for hard-core collectors! Overall, if you enjoy watching the “Anime” series then there’s no other game that delivers the same experience than Yu-Gi-Oh! Dark Duel Stories.

Summary: I love anime. I really do. I thought some of those Pokemon plushes were cute. I even got hooked on the first season of CardCaptors. But this?

Summary: Learning to play effectively can be challenging, but getting into the game is easy enough. Having to get additional cards from external sources is disappointing, but the password system seems fair to those who have invested in the card game, though purchasers of the video game may feel differently.

Summary: Over all Yu-Gi-Oh: Dark Duels is easy to get into and very addicting. Between the card collecting and construction there are hours of obsessive fun to be had. And since there are 15 CPU opponents, a multiplayer option, trading option and a few hidden CPU people to face off against this has a lot of replay value. This game is for anyone who is a fan of the Yu-Gi-Oh card game, the cartoon or card battling games in general.
