What is Yu-Gi-Oh?

Our local specialist AIPlaYa explains
Yu-gi-oh is a television show, trading card game, and a comic book manga. Created by Kazuki Takahashi in 1996, the television show was based on the first seven volumes of the comic book.

Yu-gi-oh is the story of a boy named Yugi Mutou who receives an ancient Egyptian artifact called the "Millennium Puzzle." In the first season of Yu-gi-oh (never released in America) Yugi receives a powerful alter ego by unlocking the secret of the puzzle. This alter ego often helps Yugi in cases of emergencies.

The story behind the card game is that 5000 years ago, ancient Egyptians played a game of great and terrible power called The Shadow Games. These games were much like today's Dual Monsters, but back then, they played with real monsters. These Shadow Games soon erupted in a war that threatened the entire world. It was then that a brave and powerful young Pharaoh locked away the magic within seven Millennium Items.
