| 2xhelix: | Well guys, everyone knows that Exodia is the only undefeatable monster in the whole game. |
| AiPlaya: | exactly, that's why it should be used when ever possible. |
| 2xhelix: | So it is one of your tournament strategies to go for Exodia? |
| AiPlaya: | Not always, I might contain the pieces in my side deck, because to properly use Exodia you need to have an element of surprise. I like to use Exodia in the first duel, then drop the pieces into my side deck and use a combination of different strategies from that point. |
| Cyberslayer: | I bet you don't always win using the Exodia technique. And even so, for the average duelist, all the Exodia pieces are too hard to collect. Think about it, there are 5 super rares needed to get the set. |
| 2xhelix: | If I was to buy that, it would cost me around 100 bucks, is that worth it? It seems to me for 100, I could buy many more useful cards. |
| AiPlaya: | well, I have many more cards in my deck than just the Exodia piece, remember my whole deck is structured to pick up and drop as many cards as possible. I would say I can get an Exodia piece by my first draw. |
| Cyberslayer: | Whatever, that's such a joke. The average deck only has 40 cards, and there are 5 pieces of Exodia. That gives you like a 12.5% chance of drawing it. |
| AiPlaya: | where did you learn to do your math? I thought you were someone smarter. To find the probability you don't just divide 5 by 40. First, you have to realize that you draw 5 cards. There are 658008 ways of drawing 5 cards(Using theory of Combination). There are a total of 502455 hands that contain at least 1 piece of Exodia, which gives you a grand possibility of 76.3% to have at least one piece of Exodia. |
| 2xhelix: | Well, that's really interesting.. yes .. But Exodia is useless without the rest of the parts. And you are saying that there is a high chance of getting one piece of Exodia to start, but really getting the rest of the pieces becomes really difficult. |
| AiPlaYa: | true, but not when you have the right support cards. Read my Deck Strategy!! |
| Cyberslayer: | that's nice, but how many people have the money or time to form this type of deck. Using your math skills you should know it would take over 5 booster BOXes to ensure that you have the entire set of Exodia. |
| AiPlaYa: | Well, why would someone try to get the booster boxes when they could buy and trade. |
| Cyberslayer: | Well, too bad if everyone wants Exodia, it will be impossible to trade, since everyone will hog his or her pieces. Not only that, not everyone has the money to spend on Exodia, even if they are unlimited edition cards. |
| 2xhelix: | So once again, it goes back to the cost issue. Cyberslayer, would you agree that if you get Exodia, for lets say, 10 bucks, then you would also use it in a duel? |
| Cyberslayer: | I think if Exodia was for free, I still wouldn't like to use him in a duel. Think about it, one deck destruction and soul release will cause you to lose right away. |
| AiPlaya: | True, but that's why I stated Exodia needs to be used as an element of surprise. Who honestly carries a Soul Release around in their main deck? My point is, use Exodia once in the duel, then the next match revert to the side deck. |
| Cyberslayer: | I guess you have a point there. Personally I would not go for Exodia, but you have some good points on why you should try to do it. |
| AiPlaYa: | Well, thanks, remember to those reading this, check out my deck strategy on how to obtain Exodia as fast as possible. Remember I had a streak of 10 Exodia's once, so it shouldn't be too hard for you to use. |
| 2xhelix: | Well everyone, I hope this article helps for those deciding if you want to keep Exodia or not. Exodia is really hard to collect, and you need a lot of supporting cards. If you are a serious duelist and enter many tournaments, then Exodia maybe the way to go for you to go. If you a casual player, then collecting Exodia will be too difficult, and there are probably better ways of winning duels for you. Tune in next time, as the panel will discuss the issue of fake yu-gi-oh! cards. |
